A joint degree programme proposed by two leading polytechnic tertiary institutions of New Zealand and China, internationally accredited by the New Zealand Institute of Professional Engineers under the provisions of the Sydney Accord of the International Engineering Alliance and the Chinese Government.

It is a four-year programme. The first 3 years learning is a combination of engineering technical subjects along with the English language in Dalian Ocean University, China’s Liaoning Province. Many of the engineering classes in the first three years are delivered by Otago Polytechnic staff in English at Dalian Ocean.

Upon graduation, students receive the Bachelor degree of Engineering Technology (Mechanical) from Otago Polytechnic and Dalian Ocean University, recognised in countries who signed the Sydney Accord of the International Engineering Alliance (Australia, Canada, China, Ireland, Korea, New Zealand, South Africa, Great Britain, USA, Malaysia, Peru and Sri-Lanka).
